RECYCLINET

Why PET?

PET is the stream RECYCLINET has chosen to prioritize for its initial phase.

Why start with a targeted stream

RECYCLINET chose to start with a clearly defined waste stream rather than with all recyclable materials at once.

This choice remains a product decision specific to RECYCLINET for its initial phase — it does not claim to establish a general truth about the best way to handle waste.

This choice is intended, for this initial phase, to:

  1. make the system easier to understand for citizens and collectors;

  2. limit the scope to what can be put in place consistently;

  3. progressively structure collection, validation, and tracking before considering any expansion.

Identifying PET bottles

RECYCLINET's initial system targets PET bottles.

The practical process for identifying the bottles covered by the system will be specified later; this point remains to be confirmed. RECYCLINET does not claim that all plastic bottles are made of PET.

Collection and recovery

RECYCLINET's general objective for this stream is to make collecting and recovering PET bottles easier.

This document does not guarantee that collected bottles will ultimately be recycled, and makes no claim about any recovery rate.

Caps

Caps are only covered if applicable contracts allow it; this point remains to be confirmed.

RECYCLINET makes no claim about what caps are made of, nor that they would necessarily follow the same stream as the bottles.

Traceability / tracking

RECYCLINET carries the general ambition of better tracking PET bottle streams, in a spirit of transparency.

No metric is active at this stage, and no real-time tracking is claimed to be available.

Initial phase / future evolution

PET is the priority of RECYCLINET's initial phase.

This does not mean RECYCLINET will necessarily limit itself to this stream indefinitely: an expansion to other materials may be considered, but would require separate validation. No future material is announced at this stage.

Monastir

RECYCLINET's first pilot is planned for Monastir, Tunisia, and is currently in preparation.

No date, neighborhood, collection point, or partner is disclosed at this stage.
